About Commerce Department
The Department of Commerce at B. N. College, Bhagalpur, holds the distinction of being one of the institution’s oldest departments, having been established in 1960. Its primary objective is to deliver comprehensive education in accounts and related subjects to both intermediate and graduate students. Currently, the department operates with a faculty comprising one Regular Assistant Professor, three Guest Professors, and one Assistant Staff member.
Dedicated to academic excellence, the department is steadfast in its commitment to providing quality education to students at both intermediate and graduate levels. Embracing the evolving educational landscape, the department has implemented the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) syllabus, aligning with the National Education Policy (NEP) of 2020. This curriculum encompasses prescribed courses in MJC, MIC, MDC, VAC, and SEC for the undergraduate level, and has been in effect since the previous academic year.
The instructional approach within the department is multifaceted, combining traditional classroom lectures with hands-on project work. This methodology ensures a well-rounded learning experience for students, fostering not only theoretical understanding but also practical application. As a cornerstone of academic tradition at B. N. College, the Department of Commerce continues to play a vital role in shaping the educational journey of aspiring professionals.
